The following data refers to the video version of the podcast on YouTube
- Added some interesting clips to the first 15 seconds to grab viewers attention and make them want to stay and watch the rest of the video. Also overlayed some dynamic captions and transitions.
- Created an animated 10-second catchy video intro to use across all the videos.
- Created an animated outro at the end of each video with space for Kurt to add a “Next Up” video and a Subscribe link.
- Added several Calls to Action to encourage viewers to subscribe and like the video.
- Added lower thirds with each guest’s name, company, and website.
- Pulled short form content from each video and added custom dynamic captions for Kurt to post as a teaser. I edit the captions myself instead of using 100% automated caption services, which helps his videos stand out from everyone else’s.
- Reduced each video from 40+ minutes to less than 20 minutes to cater to the shorter attention spans of YouTube viewers (as compared to the longer attention spans of audio podcast listeners).
Together, Kurt and I are constantly adapting and adjusting his videos to improve engagement and retention. His numbers are climbing each week. Below is a sample of a video before we started working together in April 2025, versus just over 2 months later in July 2025, versus 9 months later in January 2026 when he started getting over 20K views on his videos.
